Lions Clubs Photo of the Week: District Governors Kick Off Tree Planting Campaign
August 22, 2011
Our Million Tree Planting Campaign is off to a roaring start, with Lions around the world planting 209,353 trees to date. The campaign began at our convention last month, when newly elected District Governors and their spouses planted 800 seedlings in one day.
The Pierce Conservation District is caring for the seedlings until they are ready for planting in the fall. Volunteers will plant half of the seedlings in the Lions Cedar Grove at Discovery Park in Seattle, and the other half along an urban nature trail.
