Photo of the Week: Lions in Japan Help Evacuees from Fukushima Prefecture
March 28, 2011
Our members around the world have helped mobilize more than US$6 million for disaster relief efforts in Japan. We received this week’s photo from Lion Tetsuji Hakozaki of the Tamura Lions Club.
In this photo, members of the Tamura Lions Club and the Sabae Ohzan Lions Club are providing cardboard dividers for evacuees staying in gymnasiums and community centers. The evacuees use the cardboard as “walls” to create mini “rooms” within the larger spaces, which gives each family their own space and a bit of privacy.
