Photo of the Week: Lions in South Africa Help Blind Hikers Scale Mount Kilimanjaro

February 7, 2011

Our members are ready whenever and however our communities need us – even if it means climbing the highest mountain in Africa! We found this photo in our Fan Photos on Facebook.

Lions Help Seven Blind Hikers Scale Mount Kilimanjaro

During the District 410C High Sight Expedition, Lions helped 7 blind men and women climb Mount Kilimanjaro. In this photo, DC Alec Collier and DC Adrian Barnes fly the Lions flag at the end of their trek, which set a world record for the most blind people to reach summit at the same time.

It’s great to see the good the Lions are doing throughout the world. I will soon be traveling to Ethiopia to one of the Orphanages there. My son and his wife are adopting twins from there.
