Make Your State of the Lions Club Fun
A State of the Club address is a great way to get our clubs moving and show members how we’re spending our resources. The club building article of the May issue of the LION Magazine focuses on tips for creating an effective State of the Club report. Here are some ideas for communicating it to your members effectively:
- Invite the people your club has helped. For example, if you’ve awarded a scholarship recently, ask the recipient to attend the meeting and say a few words to the group.
- Try a new venue. If you always meet at the same location, make this meeting special by convening at a new restaurant or hall.
- Ask someone different to present the message. This would be a great way to get new Lions involved and help them discover more about their club.
- Invite community members. It would serve your civic leaders well to know all the positive work your club has done. Check with your local government, school board or county government and extend and invitation to your representatives.
